The ladies who are in my House Party are all ones who have been in 1 or more 'mismatched-bridesmaid' weddings, so I trusted they could pull this off with little-to-no hand-holding, since we've done it twice before.
As you might remember, another part of my color scheme in addition to the red/purple/pink combo my 'maids are wearing, is bold black and white stripes. Remember how much I liked this beauty?
Then I saw THIS picture:
This instantly resonated with me. It was more exciting than plain black, but simple enough that I don't feel bad asking my House Party to find a dress in this color palette. It will complement the Bridesmaid dresses, but the House Party will definitely be its own thing and not appear as a 'lesser' version of the bridesmaids.
So in the end, I told my House Party:
1. A black AND white dress. No just black, no just white (but doesn't have to be 50/50).
2. No more than two of them can wear a striped dress (that's just asking for a headache, I think)
3. No small-ish prints that make the black & white blend into a grey.
So that's what all involved in my wedding party will be wearing! I can't wait to see what dresses the House Party girls all pick out...I think they are going to look AWESOME.
