Whenever people ask me what my favorite part of our wedding day was (other than the actual act of marrying Mr. L), I say our first dance. Those few minutes seem to perfectly encapsulate our day.
There wasn't much discussion about what song we would dance to. The obvious answer was Huey Lewis & The News' anthem, Power of Love, otherwise known as the Back to the Future song. It's one of our all-time favorite movies.
Anyway...we love the movie, we love the song, so there was never any doubt of our selection for our first dance song.
In the weeks leading up to the wedding, we played the song once or twice and danced around in our living, sort of as "practice," but we didn't actually choreograph anything. We just knew we wanted to have fun with it!
Yeah, we accomplished having fun with it.
(Fair warning...my dress is nearly falling off of me in some of these. But it was worth it!)
My hair's falling apart, my dress is falling off of me, we were hungry, sweaty messes...but it didn't matter. It was the best. If I could time travel, this is the moment I'd go back to in the DeLorean.
That's the power of love.
