Anyway, I'm a sucker for these things, so yes, I wanted to send cards in the snail-mail asking to be my bridesmaids :)
It was fun to get the phone calls from them laughing (and saying yes, of course), but it took a while for my MOH to get back to me. For a while I started to worry that it had gotten lost in the mail, or maybe she didn't want to be my MOH (she had recently had a baby), or just that she was so unimpressed, that it didn't merit a response at all. Then I got this in the mail, in response to the card I sent her:
Believe it or not, "Will You Be In My House Party?" cards do not exist. While I'm not quite as creative as those Etsy sellers, I whipped up some cute cards to send to the rest of my IWU gals to ask them to be in my House Party:
Of the six girls I asked to be in the House Party, one did decline. I wasn't too terribly surprised - she had recently done the bridesmaid thing twice, and it's not really her thing. She had also just started grad school, and I think she was unsure about even being able to attend the wedding, which I do understand. I don't really believe in "replacing" wedding party members, so her decline didn't require me to rethink anything. I'd simply have one less House Party member than I had originally planned.
So I had my 6 bridesmaids, and my 5 House Party members. The next thing to tackle: What should they wear?
