Mr. L and I knew that marriage was in the works for a long time. I also had quite a bit of say on what kind of ring I wanted (to be explained in a later blog!) so his big challenge was how, despite all the talk and prep between the two of us (and jewelers), he was going to still surprise me.
At this point, I figured that he wasn't going to try and use any sort of celebration or trip as an excuse to propose. Too predictable, I suppose! He was going to catch me completely off guard.
We were going on another (yes, another!) Disney trip at the end of March, during my Spring Break. Like I said, at this point, I figured he wasn't going to ask on a special occasion...BUT, it was the last big trip or special occasion for a while, so I was still looking for any subtle signs.
When we got to security at the airport, I thought to myself, "Well, if he has a ring, he's probably going to want to get in a different line or distance himself from me in some way, in case they want to open his suitcase." (Mr. Llama often gets "randomly" selected to do searches at the airport. I guess it's that dark and handsome thing he's got going.) But when it was time to go through the scanner/detector thingies, Mr. Llama didn't flinch. He didn't go to another aisle. He didn't nervously ask TSA any questions. Nada.
When we finally got to our hotel (Saratoga Springs), we did our usual thing, which entails going to Downtown Disney to find a Christmas ornament to commemorate our visit. (We have an ornament for every visit. We're going to need a BIG tree someday.) Then we headed over to dinner at Citricos, located at the Grand Floridian.
Did I continue to suspect anything as our trip continued? Stay tuned...
